GOODBYE BLUE PARIS!
WE HAD LOTS OF DRAMA WITH THE GIRLS AND THE BOYS TOO.
WE BUSTED OUR BUTTS TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE KIDS AND OUR INSTRUCTOR.
WE HARDLY ATE ANYTHING BECAUSE THE FOOD WAS SOO "ENGLISH"
WE COULDN'T WAIT TO GET HOME FROM OUR EXTREME CAMPING EXPERIENCE
WE MADE NEW FRIENDS AND NEW MEMORIES
WE ARE THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE AND WELL AFTER THAT TRIP!
OVER ALL I FOUND OUT THAT I CAN DO MORE THEN I THOUGHT I COULD AND NOW REALIZE THAT I DON'T WANT TO DO THOSE THINGS BECAUSE THE THINGS I ENJOY WHEN ON HOLIDAY IS EATTING, SIGHTSEEING, SHOPPING AND GOOD COMPANY! AHH! UNTIL THE NEXT ADVENTURE! PEACE:)
LOVING NORTH WALES
ROBERT, NORMAN, OUNIE AND I ENJOYING THE SUN SETTING!

I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE COUNTRY SIDE AND THE SEA AND BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES MAKES NORTH WALES VERY CAPTIVATING. I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK WITH KIMO AND THE BOYS AND TOURS THE CASTLES THAT LINE THE COAST. WE DROVE PAST A CASTLE THAT DATES BACK TO THE EARLY 1600'S. I HEARD YOU CAN WALK THE CASTLE WALL AND GO FROM CASTLE TO CASTLE. LOTS TO SEE AND DO THERE. IT IS TRULY AMAZING TO SEE THE HISTORICAL PLACES ALMOST LOOK THE SAME AS IT DID CENTURIES AGO.

FRIDAY AUGUST 8TH
YEAH, IT'S OUR LAST DAY AND ITS WATER RAFTING. WE DID 4 RUNS DOWN THE RIVER AND THE FIRST RUN I MANAGED TO HAVE MY NOSE CRASH INTO THE BACK OF DIANA'S HELMET AND AS WE SAT DOWN I HAD A TBAR OF A PADDLE HIT MY LIP! OH THE PAIN, SWELLING BUT I HAVE TO SAY BESIDES THAT IT WAS FUN AND I WOULD DO IT AGAIN WITHOUT THE PAIN!

THURSDAY AUG 7TH
MY WATER PROFF CAMERA HAS MY PICTURES OF THE GORGE AND THE BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL SO FOR NOW ALL YOU GET TO SEE IS WOOLEY SHEEP! I'VE NEVER SEEN SO MANY SHEEP IN MY LIFE, THOUSANDS EVERYWHERE!
WE HEADED OUT TO GO GORGE CLIMBING! EXTREME GORGE CLIMBING ACCORDING TO ANTHONY, HE SAID EVERYTHING WE DID IT WAS ON THE EXTREME SIDE (NO KIDDING) IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THE BEST GORGE IN ALL OF WALES. WE HIKED, CLIMBED, SWAM IN THE COLD MOUNTAIN WATER WITH ALL OUR GEAR. WE HAD BATHING SUIT, WET SUITS, FLEECE JACKET, WATER PROFF PANTS AND JACKET, HELMET AND OF COURSE OUR WELLIES(RAIN BOOTS) THAT WEIGHED ABOUT 20LBS WITH SQOOSHI WATER . IT WAS EXHAUSTING BUT AMAZING! IT WAS A FUN DAY EVEN THOUGH ONCE WE REACHED THE TOP WE HAD A LONG STEEP WALK DOWN A GROOVED CONCRETE ROAD THAT WAS VERY, VERY STEP AND MY TOES WERE KILLING ME.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 6TH
COAST LINE AS WE LEFT THE BEACH, SEE THE WEATHER!
TODAY WE HEADED OUT TO A LAKE TO PRACTICE OUR KAYAK MOVES BEFORE WE LOADED BACK UP FOR SOME KAYAK SURFING AT CABLE BAY. IT IS WELL KNOWN FOR SURFING AND ALSO NICK NAMED FOR THE ATLANTIC CABLE & UNDERSEA COMMUNICATION DURING WORLD WAR 2. THE SURF REPORT WAS A 3 WHAT EVER THAT MEANS, I GUESS THE SWELL WAS BIGGER AND NOT FLAT.
HMMM.........WITH GREAT HESITATION I GOT IN THE KAYAK, THE WHOLE WEEK THE WEATHER WAS IN THE 60'S AND THE WATER TEMP WAS COLD. I PADDLED OUT AND TOOK THE FIRST BIG WAVE IN AND OF COURSE THE WHITE WASH TURNED ME SIDEWAYS AND AS THEY SAY IN HAWAII I "HULI MAKA FLIPPED!" IT TOOK AWHILE BEFORE I POPPED OUT. NEXT WAVE SAME THING I WAS STUCK AND IN A PANIC SINCE I COULDN'T FIND THE LOOP TO MY SKIRT AND I WAS OUT OF AIR SO I TRIED TO GET MY HEAD ABOVE THE WATER ONLY TO HAVE A WAVE COVER MY FACE AS I GASPED FOR AIR BUT ALL I GOT WAS SEA WATER! IT WAS UGLY AND BY THE TIME STUART AND DAVE GOT TO ME I HAD MANAGED TO WIGGLE MY WAY OUT. SERIOUSLY I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DROWN AND BETHANY MY PARTNER HAD NO IDEA I HAD EVEN FLIPPED OVER SINCE SHE WAS ON THE BEACH TALKING TO SOME OTHER GIRLS.
YES, I'LL STICK TO SURFING ON A SURF BOARD IF I WANT TO BE THAT ADVENTUROUS AGAIN.
SO AFTER AN HOUR WE TOOK A VOTE AND DECIDED THAT ONLY ONE PERSON OUT OF 8 WANTED TO CONTINUE SO INSTEAD OUR GUIDE DAVE DECIDED THAT WE WERE GOING TO SCRAMBLE UP THE ROCKS AND THEN CLIMB DOWN AND DO MORE SEA LEVEL TRAVERSING ( AT THAT POINT I WAS WANTING TO CHANGE MY VOTE)
IT TOOK US FOREVER AND ONCE AGAIN I ENDED UP IN THE WATER HAVING MY SECOND NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE ( AT LEAST IN MY MIND).
I COULDN'T HOLD ON ANY LONGER AND WAS FREAKED OUT BECAUSE THE RIP TIDE WAS BELOW US. OF COURSE, I FELL IN. I WAS TOLD THAT MY EYES GOT BIG AND I HAD A LOOK OF PANIC AS THE TIDE TOOK ME BACKWARDS FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THEN WHEN THE NEXT WAVE PUSHED ME FORWARD I THINK ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS SWIM FOR YOUR LIFE. ANYHOW AS YOU CAN TELL I SURVIVED AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY I DON'T EVER WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN.
TUESDAY AUGUST 5TH
SO WE WOKE UP AT 7:30AM AND ATE BREAKFAST AND WENT OUT TO THE ISLE OF ANGLESEY THAT IS SEPERATED BY A STRIP OF SEA CALLED THE MENAI STRAIGHT.
WE WENT TO A PORT SOUTH OF HOLYHEAD TO DO SOME SEA LEVEL TRAVERSING WHICH INVOLVED US SCALING THE SEA WALL AND HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE. I HAVE TO SAY THIS WAS UNLIKE ANYTHING I HAD EVER DONE AND IT WAS A HUGE CHALLENGE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY FOR ME AND SOME OF THE KIDS.
AFTER LUNCH WE DID MORE SEA TRAVERSING AND THE GUIDE DIDN'T REALIZE TILL IT WAS TOO LATE THAT HIGH TIDE HAD COME IN. SO IT BECAME A BIT MORE DIFFICULT FOR US TO CONTINUE AND IN THE END WE HAD TO JUMP OFF A CLIFF INTO THE IRISH SEA AND SWIM ACROSS THE COVE AND FINISH THE HIKE AND TREK BACK TO THE VAN. WE GOT BACK ABOUT 5PM AND WE WERE POOPED.( SOME SAY IT WAS 15FT OR SO BUT I BELIEVE MY FEAR FACTOR RATED IT AT 20FT OR HIGHER.) I CHOSE THE HIGHER HEIGHT BECAUSE IF I WAS GOING TO DO IT I WAS GOING TO DO IT IN A BIG WAY. I HOPE THE PICTURES TURN OUT BUT THERE IS ONE OF ME JUMPING OFF THE CLIFF. I HAVE PROFF! I WON'T GET THE PICTURES BACK TILL SATURDAY.
