Good Night!

Great West Window, The Heart of the Church

It is so amazing all the detail and carvings in the walls and ceilings. Every wall has faces and animals carved into them. This is the Nave looking East.
The Stories about the stain glass were amazing, if I could of only understood everything "Hair harry" had to say about them. Above is the Great West Window. One of over 100 in the church.
These stain glass windows date back to early 600 A.D. before this Cathedral was built and befor e most peolple could read or write. They all tell a story.

Here we are at York Minster Medieval Cathedral

Left to Right back : Colean, Trish,Buffy,Me and in the front: Julie! Here we are waiting for the guided tour to begin. We couldn't hear the man and he had so much hair on his ears and brows we were all fascinated and obsessed with thinking of ways to trim them down with a weed whacker or some cutting device.

War Memorial

On every slate there are names of all the people from York that have died in battles.

York, England / Girls Day out!

On our way to York MinsterI think this is just an old building on our way to Y.M.

Hello,
This Saturday four of use took a train up to York, about 2 hour train ride and it cost about $53.00 RT. We left Peterbourough about 7:50am and found us some seats not all together but in the same vicinity. The train station is next to the city center but we actually got off the train and started about a half mile down the road before we realized (after we asked for directions) that we were headed in the wrong direction. We turned around and as we looked up there was York Minster! It was funny but not....... here are a few highlights from my trip with Colean, Julie, Trish, Buffy and I.
